Can someone you like and in fact care about a lot (platonically speaking) also annoy you?
So much so, that you get snappy and can’t figure out if you love em’ or hate em’!
They are not specifically doing anything to annoy you, but it’s the way they speak, move, breathe that make all serene wave particles in the vicinity, jostle with confusion. The result: one gets irritable, says something snappy, this is followed by pangs of guilt, and lots of ‘I am sorry’ (but I will most probably snap at you again).
Anyways, the weekend was rather nice. Lots of food, laughter, music and long, winding car drives.
Also, reading The Buddha Of Suburbia, a hilarious novel by Hanif Kuereshi. I didn’t care too much for his short stories, which I read about 3 years back. But I loved Intimacy.
It had these flashes of wisdom put forth in a shockingly articulate manner.
Headed to Goa next week for some rain, sorpotel, playing with the the new doggie, to inspect whether the family has done justice to the new bungalow…and things like that.
No partying, lolling on the beach, dancing on tabletops etc…this one’s a family holiday.
So, I will mostly be eating, lounging around and giggling at Lassie’s shennanigans.
Heard some nice music yesterday by Post Office. Their love songs have inventive lyrics to the effect of ‘I want to be the phonograph that sings you to sleep’…Very quirky and not corny at all, like most love songs.
