Have a got a new roommate who actually happens to be an old friend from my Pune student days.
It seems like eons ago but the memories came rushing back especially when our mutual buddyfriend who also hung out with us back then, came avisiting from Kolkata on work.
All three of us have changed or rather evolved immensely since then — for the better I think; we’ve been through crazy relationships, stupid jobs, neurotic roommates and tons more along the way.
Exchanging notes was amusing, fun and insightful.
Other than that, met this chap yesterday from New Zealand who came all the way to India to learn the flute from Hari Prasad Chaurasia. He did learn the flute and now deejays at clubs interjecting the whole techno-disco shebang with recitals of the saxaphone and the flute. However, he thinks the maestro may not like the whole fusion bit.
Anyways, this chap digs Mumbai, Rudyard Kipling and has a penchant for non-verbal conversations with the chaiwala who lives down the lane ‘n’ doesn’t know a word of English.

Whoa, do I know this new room mate?
Take a guess, honey…it’s Sulagna!!! Am sharing a nice, cosy apartment with her. We have our individual rooms of course or else, we might end up tearing each other’s hair out after a bit. It’s kind of nostalgic, but if anything we have grown a whole lot closer.
Howz you babe?
Sulugna huh? How lovely and strange at the same time – its like coming back full circle in a way!
I’m good. Hello to Slug!
