Saw The Aviator the other day. I wonder whether it’s a natural for talented, visionaries to turn into lunatics.
Or is it because a seed is allowed courtesy, self-indulgence, power, luxury to flower into it’s full horrifc glory?

That was a real motivation to read. I am planning to do walk/jog the 10K marathon in June and it was truly inspiring to read your post. There are plenty of reasons that I would do it, but I still keep thinking if I did the right thing by registering for it, the first and foremost being that am I fit enough? But as I read through your post, it does hit me that you are absolutely right, it is a mind thing

Thank you for this. I am in similar position, as in attempting to push myself and my body to do what I never dreamed of or thought capable of considering injuries, weight gain and general malaise.I intend to walk/run the 5K in May, but am attempting it this Saturday just to see if I can do it. It will be a big challenge, and your post has helped immensely. It is a mind thing.

I think it is often cause most visionaries are before their time, and tend to not be understood by their contemporaries. So they end up living a life of relative seclusion and sometimes complete isolation.
It’s also got to do in part, i think, with them being constantly within their own minds and toying with ideas and concepts so much so that they lose touch with reality.
Just my thoughts…
Yeah I think for those who don’t maintain that balance with society, with life, with others and huddle back to the place where they feel comfortable – their minds… it is this constant returning or rather rarely leaving that makes them loose it.
